Q: How to know if the O2 sensor is good or not Online VideoA: The only way to know if the O2 sensor is functioning normally is to check its response to changes in the air-fuel mixture by measuring voltage or simulating the waveform. Use a 10 megaohm digital voltmeter. Connect the red probe of the voltmeter to the sensor signal wire and connect the black probe to engine ground. (Use the reverse probe method, DO NOT pierce the wire.) For a good sensor, the voltage should fluctuate between 0.1 and 0.9 volts constantly after the engine has been running for 2 or 3 minutes.
